Esterillos is part of the province of Puntarenas and one of the lesser known jewels of the Pacific coast. Bejuco is located on the southern end of playa Esterillos. The beach gets it's name from the trees that grow in the estuary, commonly called 'Bejucos'. Playa Esterillos is a long beach at almost 7km.
Getting There:
From San Jose, or Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) travel on the Central Pacific Highway through Atenas, Orotina and Jaco (approx. 2 hours). From Jaco head south on the coastal highway about 20 minutes to Playa Bejuco. The turn onto Playa Bejuco is adjacent to the large Del Pacifico development on the left side of the highway.

Quepos is famous for its Deep Sea Fishing
Manuel Antonio National Park with beautiful beaches and trails. There is a large population of grey crowned red-backed squirrel monkeys (Mono Tití) there. This town also has many restaurants, shopping and other services.

Like many beaches in Costa Rica, Playa Bejuco can occassionally experience strong currents. Swimmers should always use caution.
